Six people were wounded in a terror stabbing attack in Hadera, police reported Wednesday morning. The terrorist was later neutralized.
This is the third major terror attack in Israel in the recent week and follows the terror attacks in Tel Aviv last Tuesday and Beersheba on Sunday.
Paramedics treated two men, ages approximately 30 and 50, in serious condition. Additionally, a third person, approximately 70 years old, was moderately wounded. All three were evacuated to Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in Hadera.
Four of the wounded received medical treatment in an operation room, one of which was in critical condition, one severely wounded, and two in moderate condition, the Hillel Yaffe Medical Center announced. Additionally, two more in moderate condition were hospitalized for further medical treatment.
In addition to the six wounded, one person sought treatment after experiencing anxiety.
Later, MDA said that another two were moderately wounded in Hadera and were receiving medical treatment.
According to the police, the terrorist attacked in four different locations, wounding two in the first, a third in the second, another two were attacked in the third location, and a sixth person was attacked in another location in Hadera before the police stopped the attacker.
“We arrived at the scene where there was a seriously injured person with stab wounds in multiple areas of his body and suffered from multisystem trauma,” MDA Paramedic Shaked Hajaj reported. “He was semi-conscious; we provided lifesaving medical treatment and evacuated him to the hospital. After that, we returned to the scene to continue treating other injured individuals.”
Police confirm terror attack
Initially, the attacker fled the scene on a scooter, with police in pursuit. After extensive searches, police forces were able to eliminate the terrorists.
At first, the police believed the incident was likely not a terror attack. However, in a later update, police had confirmed it was.
Many police forces began scanning the city’s streets while operating a police helicopter in an attempt to locate the fleeing suspect, along with Hadera Municipality inspectors who joined the searches, Israel Police said.
The terrorist, Ahmad Jabarin, was a 36-year-old Israeli citizen from Umm al-Fahm, according to Israeli state broadcaster KAN.
The terrorist was located on the motorcycle in the fourth location where he attacked civilians, on Herbert Samuel Street, and was eliminated by an armed citizen who was there and then immediately arrested by the security forces.
An ax and a knife handle were found near the terrorist, and the blade of the knife was found covered in blood during searches of the area, police said, which were transferred to the police forensic laboratories for further evidence extraction.
