MASON GREENWOOD could be set to leave Manchester United over the coming days.
The 22-year-old forward came through the academy at Old Trafford but his time there could soon be over as Marseille look to secure his services.
Greenwood, who won player of the season while on loan at Getafe in LaLiga last term, was back at their Carrington HQ on Monday.
However, he did not train with the rest of the squad who had returned for pre-season training, instead he only had talks with United chiefs.
The one-capped England international was informed that he has no future at the club even though charges of attempted rape and assault against him were dropped last year.
His displays in Spain last season have led to a string of foreign teams chasing his services.
However, the Daily Mail states that “Marseille have moved ahead of Lazio, Atletico Madrid and Valencia in the race to sign Greenwood”.
They added that transfer talks are “at an advanced stage” between the French giants and Red Devils after they tabled an offer worth £27million with a substantial sell-on fee included.
And transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has offered more insight into that potential package.
He posted on X: “More on Mason Greenwood. In any case, Man United will include big sell-on clause into the deal.

And we also revealed yesterday how England Euro 2024 star Marc Guehi is another target should they be unable to find a breakthrough for Branthwaite.
