Google Could Release Its Big Android 15 Update To The Public Today For Pixel Phones

Must read

It was previously reported that Google will potentially see fit to release its big Android 15 update in October. While the exact release date is unknown at this point, we have previously covered that the update will hit Pixel users in the middle of this month. Based on the prior reports, Google could release its Android 15 update for all compatible Pixel devices later today.

Android 15 could be released today if past reports are true, but the company may delay it to fix additional bugs and issues

Google could release its Android 15 update later today based on past reports, as the company typically releases software updates during the same time frame. If we compare the release from past updates, Google should have released Android 15 on October 14, which was a Monday. However, it was Columbus Day on Monday, which is technically a holiday in the United States. This means that the company could release Android 15 today, a day after.

Google has already pushed its Android 15 to AOSP, and the final update was expected to arrive sometime in October. While the reported date for the release has arrived, it remains to be seen if the company will take the step. It all depends if the software is ready for launch without bugs and issues. If the company requires more time, then we could see the release stretch ahead by a few days or weeks.

Android 15 will be available for all devices, starting from the Pixel 6 to the latest Pixel 9 series. This year, Google decided to release the Pixel 9 early with Android 14 on board, which is quite different from previous releases, as the new devices always launched with the latest software. The new devices are now running last year’s software update, and while it is still pretty capable, we are waiting for the new additions, including various AI features dedicated to the Pixel 9 lineup.

The update should be available around 10:00 AM PT, the same time when Apple releases its software updates, but we can see a slight delay as well since the company is opting to experiment with timings. Do take the news with a grain of salt, as we are only corroborating earlier reports of the release potentially happening on October 15. We will cover the update in extensive detail, so be sure to keep an eye out.
