GMB’s Rob Rinder inundated with support as he confirms tragic family death

 star has been supported by his friends and followers as he took to social media to announce the death of a close family member.

The presenter, 45, paid tribute to his grandma in an emotional post as he revealed she died at the age of 96. Rob shared a gallery of snaps of grandma Frances, including one of him holding her hand and lying next to her in bed.

“My beloved Grandma Frances passed away yesterday at 96,” he wrote in the caption. “She adored me, her grandchildren & great grandchildren with FIERCE love.

“What a limitless gift it is to have had her in my life. Hold those who love you truly & unconditionally close.” He signed off the post by thanking social care organisation Jewish Care, who helped look after his grandma up until her death.

Rob’s friends raced to the comments to send their condolences. presenter wrote: “So sorry for your loss Rob. How wonderful to have had her, and all that love ,in your life for so long. Sending love and condolences to you and your family.”

“Oh Rob I am so sorry to hear your sad news. I wish you and your family long life and send you my deepest condolences dear friend,” said Vanessa Feltz.

star Angela Scanlon added: “Sending you so much love xx” while Gaby Roslin penned: “Love you my darling.” It comes after the TV personality was forced to shut down rumours he’s dating Rylan Clark.

He teamed up with the X Factor star for a new BBC show, Rob and Rylan’s grand tour, which sees the duo travel around Italy to discover the country’s greatest art treasures.

Speculation arose when Rylan promoted the show online as he urged fans to tune in. But it was Rob who set tongues wagging when he responded with a quote from romantic poet Lord Byron, writing: “‘Friendship may and often does, grow into love.’ Byron… See you alongside him 9pm tonight,” followed by a love heart emoji.

, Rylan shut down speculation on social media, saying: “The answer is no. I’m not dating Rob Rinder he’s one of my closest friends. Next time tweet me. Thanks.” Rob echoed his co-star’s comment as he reshared the post, adding: “FACT.”
