The models and celebrities are portrayed in an intimate and spontaneous way: Veruschka, Naomi Campbell, Eva Herzigova and Monica Bellucci, among others, including Audrey Hepburn in 1969. They were all shot by Barbieri for major ad campaigns for Italian and international fashion brands such as Versace, Ferrè, Vivienne Westwood, Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino and Giorgio Armani.
Barbieri is known for his ironic yet provocative images, rich with references to art history, with set design in exotic locations and cinematic references echoing his early experience working at Cinecittà in Rome.
