But many supporters have been left trapped outside the Allianz Arena, with plenty of others facing difficulties on public transport on their way to the game.

One eye witness said of the travel issues: “Packed trains towards the stadium were stuck on the U6 line around 6pm local time, three hours from kick-off.

“I was heading the opposite direction to the city centre from Nordfriedhof, five stops from the Allianz Arena.

“I didn’t see a train move towards the stadium for 30 minutes and they could’ve been waiting longer before and afterwards.

“Supporters started getting off the train and seeking alternative routes.

“Fans trying to get on the U6 from Marienplatz were being held at the top of the escalator.

“I returned to the station about an hour later, and the blockage appeared to have cleared.”

There were also no clear queues outside the Allianz arena according to supporters there.

Aberdeen chairman Dave Cormack, who was caught up in the chaos, said on X: “EURO2024 the worst organisation I’ve ever seen at a game.

“Been queuing for over an hour and still tens of thousands of people trying to get in.

“Where’s the German efficiency?!”

Meanwhile, Scotland fan Paige told talkSPORT: “If you’re a woman you’re in luck because they split us up into male and female…

“We got here at about 6pm, they were like not particularly worried about which entrance you went into as long as it wasn’t VIP or hospitality.

“You’d think at Euro 2024 it’s a lot better prepared than this, you’d think there would be better planning. I can totally see why it’s chaotic.”
