German start-up brings cryonics to Europe

Must read

To most, especially in the depths of summer, the term “brain freeze” recalls a tolerable side effect of an overindulgence in ice cream. In Germany, however, it could mean a ticket to the afterlife.

A Berlin start-up, thought to be the first of its kind in Europe, is offering to cryogenically freeze people in liquid nitrogen after they die, for as long as it takes until science can find a way to revive and rejuvenate them.

The full-body service costs €200,000, while the brain-only discount offering costs a mere €75,000.

Clients are already queuing up. The company, Tomorrow Bio, has already frozen six “clients” as well as five pets. Three of the human patients went for the brain-only option.
