Gavin & Stacey‘s upcoming 2024 Christmas special looks like it will feature a wedding, based on new filming photos.
Filming on another festive episode of the beloved BBC series is currently under way after being announced earlier this year, and the cast have been spotted dressed to the nines on set.
In photos shared by the MailOnline, James Corden (Smithy) and Mathew Horne (Gavin) can be seen suited and booted in wedding-ready attire.
Joanna Page (Stacey), Alison Steadman (Pam) and Melanie Walters (Gwen) are also dressed for the occasion.

As fans will know, the 2019 Christmas special ended on a huge cliffhanger in which Nessa, played by Ruth Jones, got down on one knee and proposed to Smithy, so these new photos are sure to get tongues wagging.
While Jones is nowhere to be seen in the photos, her character’s former flame Dave Coaches (played by Steffan Rhodri) was spotted.
Dave last appeared in the final episode of Gavin & Stacey‘s third series, when he was jilted at the altar by Nessa.

Have the former couple rekindled their romance in the five years that have passed since the last Christmas special? Has Dave returned to attend Nessa’s wedding to Smithy? Or is it someone else’s wedding entirely? We don’t have the answers, of course, but all will be revealed on Christmas Day.
Other cast members spotted on set include Rob Brydon (Bryn), Julia Davis (Dawn) and Adrian Scarborough (Pete).
One cast member who won’t be returning for the upcoming episode is Oscar Hartland, who played Smithy and Nessa’s son Neil (aka Neil The Baby) in season three before returning for the 2019 special.
“I’m disappointed. I was hoping to get the call,” Hartland told The Sun in July. “Neil must feature in the final episode because he’s Smithy and Nessa’s son. They can’t write him out. Neil would be 15, the same age as me.”
Gavin & Stacey series 1-3 are available to stream on BBC iPlayer. The Gavin & Stacey 2024 Christmas Special will air on Christmas Day on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
