Gavin And Stacey’s Ruth Jones continued filming alongside Joanna Page for the 2024 Christmas special in Barry Island on Wednesday.
Ruth, 57, who plays the iconic Nessa, is keeping fans on their toes as she was seen without an engagement ring on her finger.
Fans have had to wait five years to know what Smithy, 46, (James Corden) responded to Nessa after she got down on one knee in the 2019 episode.
But as filming kicked off earlier this week, fans are still having to wait and see if she will finally get her happy ending with Smithy.

At the climax of the last Christmas episode in 2019, Nessa got down on one knee to propose to Smithy, but viewers never got to hear his response.
The pair had an on-off relationship during the series after several unplanned one-night stands led to their son, Neil the baby.
In the last episode, which caught up with the characters 10 years after the previous instalment, it was revealed they were successfully co-parenting their son.
And as the family gathered in Barry for the festivities, the episode ended with Nessa down on one knee and the episode ended immediately after she asked: ‘Marry me?’
While talking about Nessa’s shock proposal, she told the Mirror back in 2019: ‘It’s quite difficult to show her soft side. If I’m down on one knee, it’s obvious what’s going on.
‘When I put my hand on my heart and I said, as Nessa, “I love you. No, I do, I loves you with all my heart” I really meant it to James.’
Gavin And Stacey star Alison Steadman, who plays Pam Shipman, admitted she will ‘cry’ as filming finally commences.
The actress, 78, who shared the cast are emotional that the BBC show is coming to an end for good, said she feels ‘privileged’ to have starred on the programme.

Gavin & Stacey co-creator James and Ruth confirmed the show would return in May, with filming back in Barry Island, after last airing a Christmas special in 2019
According to The Mirror, she said: ‘It’s a wonderful series. It’s so nice that it’s popular. I feel very privileged and very lucky to be given the chance.
‘I have to say it is the only show I have ever worked on where we finish each character’s final scenes like “That’s a wrap for Alison Steaman’.
‘Everyone puts their heads down and cries like we are so sad it’s over. It’s such a good experience for everyone.
‘I think the magic of the series if that everyone loves each other and the audience loves that.’

She allegedly has driven for Gladys Knight and the Pips, The Who, and agricultural company Eddie Stobart Ltd.
James has been busy directing the Christmas episode so far and hasn’t yet started filming scenes himself.
Meanwhile, Gavin’s character is set to be returning for the special episode.
At the height of the show’s success, James (Smithy) and Mathew (Gavin) were inseparable as they struck up a strong friendship on the show and continued to work together afterwards, even hosting the Brits in 2009.
However, working as a duo didn’t take off in the way that they hoped. And after a string of failed projects James headed off to America and the pair drifted apart amid rumours of a feud.
After the success of Gavin And Stacey, the ‘Gavalar’ and ‘Smithster’ went on to work together as comedy partners on projects including the critically-panned movie Lesbian Vampire Killers.
