Some eagle-eyed Gavin and Stacey viewers have noticed an error that made it into the finale.
The final ever episode of the BBC comedy series aired on Christmas Day, with fans flocking to tune in and breaking records in the process.
While many declared the episode ‘perfect’, there were some issues others couldn’t help but point out.
In the lead up to his wedding, Smithy (James Corden) celebrated his stag do with family and friends.
In a touching moment, his best friend Gavin’s dad Mick Shipman (Larry Lamb) described Smithy as a second son to himself and wife Pam (Alison Steadman) after they had struggled to conceive another child.
However, when watching, some realised a continuity error as the level of Mick’s pint glass changed from full, to half-full, and was then topped up again.
Sharing a clip of the scene on TikTok, one viewer captioned the post ‘Who else noticed Mick’s pint?’
‘I noticed this on the night! Hahaha,’ Kieren commented.
‘Mick showing he can still drink the younger blokes under the table,’ Adam quipped.
‘Thirsty lad,’ Minisparkz0 joked.
Meanwhile Sarah also commented: ‘Continuity errors are so irritating because you can’t unsee them.’
Before the episode aired, Gavin and Stacey’s co-creator Ruth Jones admitted she’d noticed an error in the last Christmas special too.
‘I watched the 2019 Christmas special the other night and I noticed a glaring continuity error. You know Pam leaves the Christmas puddings behind and forgets to take them because they have been otherwise occupied and they are mortified?’ she told Magic Radio.
‘Then Jason arrives, and he’s stopped at the shop, and he’s picked up Christmas puddings as well. So, the next morning, when they haven’t got the Christmas puddings, one of them, and I can’t remember who it is, says “have we left nine Christmas puddings in the pub?” There’s 18, there’s double.”
Gavin and Stacey is streaming on BBC iPlayer.
