Must read

Pakistan cricket team’s new white-ball coach Gary Kirsten had to witness an embarrassing exit for his team from the ongoing edition of the T20 World Cup 2024. They had to face defeats at the hands of co-hosts United States and arch-rivals Team India. They also had some close games against Canada and Ireland, where they managed to edge the opponents and win the match but it was not enough to ensure their side’s qualification in the Super 8 stage. Kirsten has now raised questions the fitness level and unity among Men in Green’s players following their disappointing outing in the mega tournament.

Gary Kirsten raises big question on Pakistan players

As per the reports from Pakistan’s news outlet Geo Super TV, Gary Kirsten has told the players to be more united and work on their fitness level. He also gave them a swift warning telling them that only players willing to work on their fitness would remain in the team.

“If we want to compete in the world, we have to improve our fitness and skills and be united. We are way behind in terms of fitness! Only the players who want to improve on their fitness will remain in the team,” Gary Kirsten told players.

Kirsten also raised questions on the skill level of their players compared to the rest of the world. He said despite playing so much cricket, their players are not aware of what shot to play and when to play it.

Pakistan beat Ireland to end campaign

Pakistan cricket team defeated Ireland in their final group-stage match by three wickets. However, as they could only get up to four points, this clash became the end of their campaign in this edition of the marquee event. They finished as the number 3 team in Group A. Team India and United States qualified for the next round of competition and will now be competing in the Super 8 stage. India is in the same group as Australia, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan. On the other hand, the USA have been placed in the same group as South Africa, West Indies, and England.
