Game On: Why tenniscore is the ultimate fashion serve this summer

For those looking to ace fashion-meets-function, a pleated tennis skirt is the ultimate serve.

A sartorial statement that doubles as athleticwear, this preppy classic is, without a doubt, the most coveted wardrobe item of the season. It arrives haute off the release of “Challengers” — a buzzy film that revolves around the sport but is also decidedly all about the fashion.

(Costume designer Jonathan Anderson, creative director of Loewe, dreamed up the ultimate in spectator chic for the movie’s stylish star, Zendaya.) It’s no surprise that tenniscore and its polite aesthetic have gone viral (cue the delicate wrists-dripping-in-Rolexes round of applause here).

We’re partial to this stripy number (above) by Sporty & Rich, a Paris-based label founded in 2014 by Emily Oberg. The creative — who previously worked at Kith and utilizes a limited-edition drop approach — knows a thing or two about curating lifestyle lust. Oberg’s is an aspirational moodboard that celebrates sun-soaked summer days warming up on hard courts for rallies, followed by gossip-fueled gin-and-tonics at the country club.

Slip on the pleated skirt and these other tennis-inspired accessories for a truly ace look. Love all.
