Game Of Thrones star Jack Gleeson looked unrecognisable as he went for a stroll in London on Wednesday.

The actor, 32, who played Joffrey Baratheon on the HBO television series, was joined by Brassic‘s Aaron Heffernan and his wife Mairead for the outing.

Jack looked worlds away from the cruel and sadistic boy king he played 10 years ago, as he sported long brown hair.

Following his stint on Game Of Thrones, from 2011 until 2014, he temporarily retired from acting and founded Collapsing Horse Theatre Company with Aaron.

Jack’s Game Of Thrones’ character was killed off during an episode dubbed The Lion And The Rose – also known as the Purple Wedding – which centre around Joffrey’s wedding to Margaery Tyrell.

The cruel and sadistic boy king, choked to death in the episode during his wedding to Margaery, portrayed by Natalie Dormer, 38.

After cutting the cake at his wedding, Joffrey took a sip of wine from goblet which was handed to him by his new cupbearer Tyrion.

The vicious king appeared to be choking at first, but then it becomes clear that he has been poisoned.

The actor told Entertainment Weekly at the time that he found the episode ‘tough’.

Discussing his early retirement from the profession in 2014, he said: ‘The answer isn’t interesting or long-winded. I’ve been acting since age 8.

‘I just stopped enjoying it as much as I used to. And now there’s the prospect of doing it for a living, whereas up until now it was always something I did for recreation with my friends, or in the summer for some fun.

‘I enjoyed it. When you make a living from something, it changes your relationship with it. It’s not like I hate it, it’s just not what I want to do.’

Last year he made a return to acting, for the BBC‘s adaptation of Enid Blyton‘s The Famous Five.
