Samsung introduced the Ultra branding for its smartphones with the Galaxy S20 Ultra. Later, it introduced the same branding for its tablets with the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. Now, it has been confirmed that Ultra branding is coming to Galaxy Watches with the Galaxy Watch Ultra.
Hopefully, Samsung will launch an Ultra-branded Galaxy Z Fold as well.
Galaxy Watch Ultra name confirmed via Thailand’s regulatory authority
The Galaxy Watch Ultra will be Samsung’s first Ultra-branded smartwatch, per the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC). This regulatory body from Thailand has offered clearance for the launch of Samsung’s upcoming wearable. According to its database (via MySmartPrice), an upcoming smartwatch from Samsung with model number SM-L705F will be called the Galaxy Watch Ultra.
Earlier, it was expected it would be named Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra.
As you can see in the image above, the Galaxy Watch Ultra is manufactured in Samsung Electronics’ factory in South Korea and was imported by Thai Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. for testing. The model that was tested by the NBTC is the smartwatch’s LTE variant (which can also be identified by the number ‘5′ towards the end of its model number). It will likely be available in a Bluetooth-only variant as well (SM-L700F).

According to previous reports and rumors, the Galaxy Watch Ultra will have a unique design featuring a rounded square titanium case and a circular screen on top. Leaked renders claim the upcoming smartwatch will have three buttons on the right side. Its design reminds us of Samsung’s Gear Sport from 2016.
A previous report claims the Galaxy Watch Ultra features the Exynos W1000 processor with a penta-core CPU and 3nm fabrication. It will have 32GB of storage, a peak screen brightness of 3,000 nits, and Sapphire Crystal screen protection. It is said to have 10ATM water resistance, an IP68 rating, and a design compliant with the MIL-STD-810H US military standard for durability.
It has a 590mAh battery, L1+L5 dual-frequency GPS, and Bluetooth (and Bluetooth LE) connectivity. It will likely run Wear OS 5-based One UI 6.0 Watch software. It could also feature Galaxy AI for personalized health tips and workout training.
