Samsung is reportedly planning an early unveiling of its Galaxy S25 series next year, with its top-end offering, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, said to be treated with minor design changes such as rounded corners, plus having a thinner chassis than its direct predecessor, the Galaxy S24 Ultra. However, there will still be some similarities shared between the two models, with the latest report mentioning that the upcoming flagship will continue to receive UFS 4.0 support, but the display’s maximum brightness is said to be increased.
New report does not mention if Galaxy S25 Ultra’s UFS 4.0 storage will boast faster read and write speeds but states that the maximum brightness level will be increased to 3,000 nits
Some leaked Galaxy S25 Ultra files were being investigated by Android Authority, revealing that the upcoming flagship will not support Find My Device when it is powered off, as indicated by the ‘ro.bluetooth.finder.supported=false’ command. This is a disappointing revelation, but it might be possible to enable this feature when exploring the settings menu. Coming to storage, Samsung is said to retain the UFS 4.0 standard for the Galaxy S25 Ultra, although it was rumored that the Korean giant would outfit it with UFS 4.1.
Thankfully, the kitted-out variant will not be limited to 12GB RAM, as Samsung is said to introduce a 16GB memory bump to the Galaxy S25 Ultra, with the remaining models also said to be treated to this upgrade. As for the display, the report states that while the resolution will remain unchanged at 3,120 by 1,440 pixels, the maximum brightness level could be increased to 3,000 nits. There is also evidence that Samsung will not bump up the battery capacity on the Galaxy S25 Ultra, with the premium handset sticking with a 5,000mAh cell.
Overall, Samsung has introduced a few upgrades to the Galaxy S25 Ultra, but it needs to address some lack of compelling hardware specifications, such as the same battery capacity that has remained unchanged for several generations. Hopefully, we will see an overhaul with the Galaxy S26 Ultra launch, so let us keep our fingers crossed for that unveiling.
