Furious Germany stars in training bust up before Scotland Euro 2024 opener

Must read

Two German stars were reportedly involved in a heated clash at training before the Euro 2024 opener against Scotland.

Pressure is ramping up on the hosts with just days until they open the tournament in a clash with Steve Clarke‘s side – and things are said to have reached boiling point behind the scenes as manager Julian Nagelsmann put his stars through their paces. German outlet Bild claim that Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger and striker Niclas Fullkrug of Borussia Dortmund had to be separated by their teammates and “almost came to blows” during the session.

It is stated that the duo were involved in several exchanges and hard-hitting tackles during the session. Things continued to rumble on with the pair repeatedly taking each other on and exchanging words, before Fullkrug cursed at Rudiger while the centre-back was on the deck – leading things to escalate further.

The Dortmund frontman then shouted at coach Mads Buttgereit to “Blow the whistle already”. The report claims that assistant coach Sandro Wagner had to step in to separate the two players – leading to the session being brought to an abrupt halt.

Germany were holding an open session in front of fans as part of the build-up. Around 4000 punters are said to have seen the incident.
