Banking giants including Lloyds and Halifax will close another 120 branches in the new year, in another blow to the UK’s high streets.
Lloyds has 51 branches earmarked to shut in 2025, Halifax is set to close 46, the Bank of Scotland will close 16 sites and TSB will shut seven branches.
Shropshire and nearby towns will see five branches close their shutters in the new year.
It comes as many major banks turn to pop-up branches or vans, as well as banking hubs where banks use a shared space on a high street, with lenders taking turns to occupy the space each day.
