SAVVY shoppers can save big bucks at the till by ensuring they’re signed up to the best loyalty schemes on the market.
The likes of Tesco and Sainsbury’s give members access to exclusive prices on thousands of products – and they’re not alone.
A growing number of shops have membership programs that give fans the chance to access exclusive prices as well as personalised discounts and points schemes.
Last year research by market research company Mintel found that four fifths of consumers were members of store loyalty programmes.
The majority of shoppers are signed up to between four and five membership schemes, with 14% being a member of six or more.
No one wants to reach the till and realise they’re not getting the best prices, so we’ve rounded up all the stores offering members exclusive discounts.
Tesco Clubcard
Tesco’s Clubcard is the most popular supermarket loyalty scheme in the country with more than 20 million users.
It gives members access to exclusive prices across thousands of products each week, which amount to big savings at the tills.
Tesco has said the average shopper can save an impressive £351 a year by accessing these cheaper prices.
Members also collect points (£1 = one point worth 1p) that can be converted into vouchers at face value to be spent against the weekly shop or cashed in with Tesco’s partners, including on meals and days out, at double their value.
You can sign up for a Clubcard via the Tesco Grocery and Clubcard app, which will give you a barcode to scan at the till and access rewards.
Nectar
The Nectar reward scheme, owned by Sainsbury’s, allows members to collect and spend points with more than 500 big brand partners.
Shoppers can earn rewards and cash them in across a huge range of products with businesses including Argos, Esso, ebay, British Airways, Dulux and Sky.
Nectar has more than 18 million members who also receive access to 100s of exclusive lower prices in Sainsbury’s every week, as well as personalised savings based on their shopping history.
Members also receive exclusive offers and discounts from both Sainsbury’s and its partners.

Co-Op Membership
Co-Op members receive access to exclusive prices and offers as well as getting the opportunity to win cash prizes for their communities.
As well as accessing members’ prices and offers, Co-Op sends personalised deals to members to help reduce the cost of items they buy regularly.
Members can also win £500 for themselves and £5,000 for their chosen Local Community Fund, every time they spend £5 or more in store.
Discounts can also be used across other Co-Op businesses, including insurance, Funeral Care and Legal Services.
It costs £1 to sign up to become a member online, through the app or in store.
Morrisons More
Morrisons More gives access to exclusive prices in store and online.
Members also receive personalised offers and discounts.
Members can earn points, with Morrisons giving shoppers £5 to spend in store for every 5,000 collected.
Best of all Morrisons More also gives shoppers the opportunity to win a Basket Bonus, that could be anything from money off their next shop to free treats.

Lidl Plus
Lidl Plus members receive access to exclusive prices and offers.
Members sign up through the Lidl Plus app where they can build up tailored offers and discounts, based on their shopping habits.
Lidl Plus also gives the opportunity to unlock new coupons when shoppers hit spending targets within a month.
For example spending £50 could see you awarded a free bakery item, while £250 could give you 10% off your next shop.
Lidl also launches limited time benefits and until June 12 when customers shop and scan their Lidl Plus app they’ll receive one free daily spin on their in-app ‘wheel of surprises’.
The scheme also gives access to a number of partner offers including discounts on holiday bookings through loveholidays, a 90 day tastecard trial and a two month digital magazine subscription with Readly.
H&M Membership
H&M members receive access to exclusive prices, discounts and 10% off their first purchase.
They also qualify for free returns and free delivery when spending £30 or more.
Perks also include 15% off one item on your birthday as well as invitations to events and exclusive partner benefits.
Members also collect a point for every £1 spent, with 100 points qualifying for a £3 voucher.
When members have earnt 400 points they are upgraded to membership plus and qualify for free delivery, surprise offers and early access to special collections.
Boots Advantage Card
The Boots Advantage Card is one of the oldest loyalty schemes on the market.
It was launched in 1997 and now has more than 17 million active members.
As well as giving access to exclusive prices the Advantage Card allows members to collect a generous four points for every £1 spent, with 1,000 points giving you £10 to spend instore.
There a number of other discounts Advantage Card members can tap into including a 10% student discount as well as double points for the over 60s and new parents.

Superdrug Beautycard
The Superdrug Beautycard gives access to exclusive lower prices on selected products both in store and online.
It also gives free delivery on online orders over £20.
Members earn one point for every £1 spent, with 100 points giving you a £1 to spend in store.
The Beautycard can also be used to access further discounts including 10% off for students and NHS employees.

MyDyas
Robert Dyas’ MyDyas offers exclusive prices across hundreds of products, including homeware, electrical appliances, tools, DIY materials and more.
Members also collect a point for every £1 spent in store or online, and will receive £1 to spend in store for every 100 points collected.
Robert Dyas will also send tailored offers based on products you love into your inbox, along with expert advice to make the most of your home and garden.
