AI is everywhere and becoming more and more popular, but did you know as a UoM student you have access to free AI tools to help you with your job applications?

CareerSet

CareerSet is an AI-powered tool that can check your CV before applying for jobs. It gives you instant feedback so you know how it’s scoring, and the things you can do to improve it. You want your score to be above 70%, so after you address any feedback and make improvements, be sure to keep re-uploading and track your progress to a higher score.

If you’re applying for a specific job, you can even use the TargetMyCV function to upload the job description. It will then give you personalised feedback on how your CV is matching to the job and ways to improve.

Shortlist.Me

Shortlist.Me is an AI powered interview simulation tool that allows you to practice for interviews privately whenever and wherever suits you. You can tailor your mock interview to the type of role you’re interested in and your experience level. You’ll get feedback on the best way to answer questions, choose interviews from a range of different employers, and nobody will see it but you!

Once you’ve completed your interview, you can get feedback on your answers and insights on your technique to help you improve for your next interview – a great way to prepare for the job you really want!
