A trailer for the four-part series Freddie Flintoff’s Field of Dreams, hints at the star opening up about the accident.

One clip features Freddie saying “something happened that’s changed my life forever”, while his face and the scars from his injuries are shown clearly on screen.

After the admission, a narrator remarks: “This is the story of the most unlikely cricket tour that almost didn’t happen.”

Production had been taking place at the motoring programme’s test track Dunsfold Aerodrome.

Freddie has not spoken to the media about the incident, but has returned to public life over the past year.

In March the BBC announced he would return for another series of Freddie Flintoff’s Field Of Dreams.

Meanwhile, Field Of Dreams On Tour follows on from the first series which aired in 2022.

In series one, Freddie moulded a group of unlikely teenagers from his hometown of Preston, Lancashire, into a cricket team.

This time around, they are to tour India.

Last November, the Beeb announced Top Gear would be rested for “the foreseeable future” following Freddie’s accident.

The former England cricket captain later came to an agreement with the corporation for a multi-million pound settlement.

Freddie joined Top Gear back in 2019, but it was far from his first TV gig.

He was also a long-term panellist on Sky panel show A League of Their Own.

For most of his tenure, Freddie starred opposite James Corden and Jamie Redknapp.

He ultimately departed A League of Their Own after 16 series.

In 2015, Freddie travelled Down Under for the first series of the Australian version of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

He triumphed over former AFL player Barry Hall and broadcaster Chrissie Swan to be crowned as the winner.

Field Of Dreams On Tour is coming this summer to BBC iPlayer and BBC One.
