Fortnite is down ahead of its latest update, the first since the start of its current season (Chapter 2 Remix).
Epic Games took Fortnite offline just after 8.30am on Wednesday in the UK, leaving players stuck on the game’s loading screen.
In keeping with this season’s musical theme, the update (known as v32.10) will set the stage for a new artist to join the fray. However, Epic has confirmed one major new feature is not ready for its debut yet.
Here’s what to expect from today’s update.
With Fortnite’s servers down and matchmaking disabled, players can’t join any game modes as part of the game’s scheduled maintenance.
Fortnite typically goes down for two to four hours ahead of the launch of a smaller update like today’s.
So, as long as there are no hiccups, we would expect the game to be back online by noon in the UK.
This is when you’ll be able to download the update on your device and sample the new content.
What to expect in v32.10?
The update will see the introduction of a hip-hop star.
While weeks one and two were all about Snoop Dogg and Eminem, respectively, now it’s the turn of Ice Spice to grace the Fortnite Island.

From November 14, you’ll find the Bronx rapper chilling in a custom-made mall on Shark Island (now fittingly dubbed Ice Isle), which looks more like the lair of a Bond villain (or should we say baddie), complete with a Betty Boop-style inflatable perched above its shark-mouthed entrance.
An Ice Spice skin and Rap Princess Ice Spice skin should also be available in the Fortnite shop at the same time.
In addition, Fortnite is expected to add the usual assortment of new emotes (including an Eminem Godzilla move), car bodies, Crew Pack items and Lego skin styles.

Maps on Reload, the faster-paced Battle Royale mode with a smaller pool of players, will also rotate every 30 minutes.
But, as mentioned above, one major new feature is being pushed back. Epic has announced that it’s delaying the release of Kicks (the game’s version of footwear) due to a visual bug.
“Players will still unlock the AJ1 Black Toe Reimagined in the Remix Pass, but will be unable to equip them,” the official Fortnite Status account tweeted.
“We’re working on a fix now and will let you know when Kicks will be enabled and will release in the Shop. We’ll provide more updates on this as we have new info.”
