Fortnite Festival appears to have confirmed a collaboration with Crypton Future Media to bring Hatsune Miku to the game. Although the Fortnite social media accounts are known for being somewhat chatty with internet users, when it comes to confirming what content is making it into the game, they’re usually quiet until something is certain. This is why it’s exciting to see apparent confirmation that there’s a collaboration with Miku.

Fortnite fans have been hyped for the chance to see Hatsune Miku appear in the game for some time now. Many gamers have been excited at the absurd nature of the collaboration, falling in line with some of the more wild recent Fortnite collaboration suggestions. Leaks have suggested that Miku would show up in the game starting January 14, but all of the official Fortnite accounts have been quiet about the collaboration until now.

A post from the Fortnite Festival Twitter account appears to confirm the long-rumored Fortnite x Hatsune Miku collaboration. The official Hatsune Miku account operated by Crypton Future Media, which owns the character, made a post stating that Miku’s backpack was missing and asked if anyone had seen it. The Fortnite Festival account replied, implying they’d found it, stating that they’re “holding it backstage” for her. The Fortnite Festival account typically tweets in a more cryptic fashion until there’s more to share, so this appears to be a confirmation of Miku’s arrival ahead of a larger announcement.

Fortnite Festival Quietly Appears to Confirm Miku Collab

Fortnite leakers like ShiinaBR have been suggesting that Hatsune Miku is set for a January 14 launch, which coincides with the game’s next expected update. The character is rumored to launch with two skins, a normal one showing off Miku’s classic outfit, which will come with the Fortnite Festival Pass, as well as a “Neko Hatsune Miku” skin, which can be bought in the Fortnite Item Shop. Whether the Neko Miku outfit is an original Fortnite skin or something inspired by the character’s previous appearances in other media is currently unknown.

The Miku collaboration is rumored to introduce several songs to Fortnite, such as Anamanguchi’s “Miku” and Ashniiko’s “Daisy 2.0 Feat. Hatsune Miku.” Hatsune Miku’s appearance in Fortnite could give Fortnite Festival some extra attention. Although the mode is a popular part of the newer Fortnite ecosystem introduced in 2023, Fortnite Festival doesn’t appear to maintain the same level of hype that the core Battle Royale format, Rocket Racing, or LEGO Fortnite Odyssey do. Some gamers hope that Fortnite Festival eventually becomes as popular as the Guitar Hero and Rock Band series of games once were, and crossing over with big names like Snoop Dog and even Hatsune Miku appears to be helping the game reach those heights.
