‘For sure’ – Dortmund boss makes bold Sancho prediction ahead of United return

Borussia Dortmund head coach Edin Terzic is confident Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho will feature in another Champions League final at some point in his career following Saturday night’s 2-0 defeat to Real Madrid at Wembley.

After rekindling his career over the past few months, Sancho dreamt of bringing his Dortmund loan spell to a close by firing them to a first Champions League crown since 1997. Despite producing an eye-catching performance, they were unable to halt Madrid’s hopes of winning the trophy for the 15th time.

The Spanish outfit scored twice inside the final 20 minutes, striking through Dani Carvajal and Vinicius Junior. Madrid rode their luck in the first half and were fortunate to head into the break level at 0-0.

Sancho started on Dortmund’s right wing and played 87 minutes, being replaced late on by Jamie Bynoe-Gittens. Despite not getting to experience the thrill of being crowned champions of Europe, Dortmund chief Terzic hailed the United loanee in his post-match press conference, insisting he has improved his colleagues during his loan spell.

“I think the last six months, Jadon has been brilliant for us,” said Terzic. “It took some time to get back into shape but you can feel this quality and his skills, he’s going to improve our game straight away.

“He didn’t improve just his game but all the players around him. He is a player who has never thought about his first touch, it is so natural, and he is very gifted.
