The First Descendant Season 2 is about to begin on PS5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.
The First Descendant Season 2 has a December 5 release date, and a 2pm GMT UK launch time.
Unfortunately, however, the new season will be preceded by a period of extended server maintenance, which kicks off at 5am GMT. This means you won’t be play to play the popular free-to-play shooter for approximately nine hours.
On the plus side, when server maintenance does come to an end, there will be lots of new content to sink your teeth into.
This includes new story content, as players explore the Void Vessel dungeon and battle the new Dread Armour boss.
Fans can also unlock a ton of new skins via the Battle Pass, as well as Christmas-themed skins and other rewards as part of the Winter Festival event.
Fans will receive the “Festival Light” title when logging in during the event, and can unlock a series of items by completing weekly challenges, including the Warm Cookie spray for finishing two Operations. You can also unlock the Gift Supply Cloak, Merry Snowman Back Attachment and Happy Dreams makeup.
Additional rewards are available based on how many consecutive days you login and play.
Other new features include the three-tier Hammer and Anvil weapon, as well as new Descendants such as Keelan and Ultimate Sharen. The new characters are joined by new canine companion Fellow.
According to the early patch notes, Season 2 will make a variety of changes to the game via a big update launching on December 12.
This includes improvements to the Shop, such as the changes to the way limited skins are categorised and sold.
“From Season 2, the Limited Skins category title will be changed to Recommended Skins,” developer Nexon explains.
“You may purchase products under the Recommended Skins category individually or in bundles.
“Some products will be offered for certain periods. These products may be re-released through events or promotions at a later time.”
The update will also include balance changes for various characters and weapons, improvements to customisation and lots more.
