The First Descendant will undoubtedly go down as one of this year’s big success stories, having already racked up more than 10 million downloads since launching earlier this month. If you haven’t already had the chance to play, The First Descendant is a third-person looter shooter that’s available free of charge. The game sees upwards of four players team up to complete missions and defeat huge monsters, all the while searching for equipment to boost their power. It’s developed using Unreal Engine 5, meaning it’s one of the better looking games to launch this year. As with any new game, particularly online shooters, The First Descendant is experiencing a few growing pains, which is why developer NEXON is taking the game offline for server maintenance.
The First Descendant servers will be down for offline maintenance at 8am BST UK time on the morning of July 18.
Unfortunately, it will be a pretty long period of maintenance, lasting for approximately five hours on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC.
If all goes to plan, then The First Descendant servers will be back online at around 1pm BST UK time on July 18.
During the server maintenance, fans will be able to download and install Hotfix 1.0.3, which will fix some of the issues that have been discovered since the game launched on July 2.
While Daily Express will update this article with full patch notes when the update is available to download, we already have a pretty good idea about what to expect from the new update.
According to a log of Known Issues on The First Descendant website, NEXON will be looking to make stability improvements, bug fixes and general gameplay tweaks to the third-person shooter.
This includes potential fixes for the game crashing on PC, as well as frame drops and other niggling problems.
Likewise, NEXON has acknowledged certain issues of “inappropriate behaviour”, so don’t be surprised if new measures are introduced to tackle the problem.
You can see some of the early issues below, and remember to check back for the full patch notes on July 18.
