Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade has said that Manchester United loanee Sofyan Amrabat has ambitions of staying in the Premier League.
Amrabat joined United on loan last September, signing for the duration of the 2023/24 campaign. The deal featured an option for the Reds to turn his stay into a permanent one for €20million, plus a further €5m in add-ons.
The Moroccan, who was signed to provide cover and competition for Casemiro, made 30 appearances in all competitions. However, it was not until the final month of the season that he started to show why Erik ten Hag was so keen on signing him.

He established himself as a regular in Ten Hag’s team towards the end of the campaign, starting each of United’s last four games, including the FA Cup final. He was excellent in the Wembley triumph over Manchester City, playing a key role in helping the club secure a 2-1 win.
Following the triumph over City, Amrabat confirmed that staying at Old Trafford beyond the end of his loan agreement could not be ruled out.
He told Ziggo Sport: “Do I already know what I’m going to do next year? No. We are going to talk. Staying is certainly an option.
“Look, I think it has been a very difficult season. For Manchester United it needs to be much better, and also for me personally.”
Fiorentina chief Prade has since issued an update on the midfielder’s future, confirming that he wants to stay in the Premier League, despite Prade being keen to see him return to Italy.
He said: “I would keep him in Florence but it doesn’t seem like what he has in mind. I think he wants to stay in the Premier League but we haven’t heard from anyone yet since.”
United plan to strengthen their midfield options with the addition of a defensive midfielder this summer. Casemiro is expected to be offloaded as part of Ineos’ plan to shake up the squad.
