Fearne Cotton has shared a health update with fans after she announced she was having surgery after discovering two ‘benign tumours’. The star shared the news on Instagram and told followers she will taking time to “rest and slow down”.
In the statement, Fearne wrote: “Hey gang. I’m going to be out of action for a bit due to a surgery. I felt a lump under my ear on my jawline a while ago now but this year noticed it was growing. Turns out it’s a benign tumour and another small one above it on the saliva gland. I’m feeling positive about it all and will take the opportunity to rest and slow right down.”

The presenter continued with a warning: “If you feel a lump or bump or feel like something is a bit off, always go get it checked. I’m so glad I did as the longer you leave these things the more complicated things become.”
The 43-year-old opened up on speaking to Davina McCall about it. Fearne told followers Davina is a “bloody good mate” but also a “beacon of light and positivity.”
Davina shared last month she will be stepping back from the spotlight to take some time “off grid” after an operation to remove an “incredibly rare” but benign brain tumour. Her health scare came to light during a routine scan earlier this year after she delivered a talk for a menopause company.
She was among the first to send a message of support to Fearne. She responded to Fearne’s statement: “Sending you so much healing and love can’t wait to give you a huge gentle cuddle.” Former Little Mix member Perrie Edwards added “Sending love!”
Zoe Ball posted “oh darling girl. be brave as and know you’ll be well looked after. all my love x” and felloe broadcaster Gabby Logan added “Sending you lots of love”
Fans of the broadcaster flooded the replies with heartfelt messages. One fan said: “Ah Fearne – you and Davina are two of my favourite inspirational women. Sending you both lots of love for a speedy recovery. The world in a finer place with you two in it”
Another added “Sending much love and positive healing energy for a speedy recovery” while others wrote “Sending buckets of positive vibes your way lovely & you focus on self care” and “Sending you love and well wishes. I had the same surgery a few years ago and recovered well. Take things easy and rest. All will be well.”
