The body positive movement has taken off in a big way online – especially on Instagram.
Brands seem to be taking note with their choice of models these days, and that decision seems to be going down well with shoppers who say they love seeing ‘real bodies’ online.
And it was Fashion Nova’s Curve Instagram page that got praised by people this week as it used a model with a ‘real belly’ in one of its underwear adverts.
The retailer’s ‘Curve’ range is for plus size women, so it’s no surprise they used a model that fitted that category. However, shoppers seemed to love that the model in particular – Erika Lipps – had a curvy stomach.
The post saw Erika, 31, posing up a storm in the Fashion Nova’s Radiant Blossom Lace 3 Piece Garter Set. The three-piece-set, which will set you back £14, consists of an underwire bra, garter belt and matching thong.
Erika, from the US, was proudly seen showing off her curves in the underwear as she pouted at the camera and posed with her hands on her waist. She looked gorgeous as she teamed her flesh-flashing display with smoky sultry eyeshadow and lined lips. Meanwhile, her long dark locks were styled into tousled waves.
Fans were loving Erika’s look, as one exclaimed: “Finally! A real, natural woman.” While another added: “LOVE THIS REPRESENTATION! She is such a hottie!”
A third chimed in: “Here we go! This what we want! Models with belly.” While another agreed: “FINALLY a plus size girl WITH A BELLY. THANK YOU.”
Erika boasts 332,000 Instagram followers herself on her own @erikalipps account. Her post, which see her pose in skimpy outfits, swimwear and lingerie, often rack up thousands of likes and gushing compliments from her many admirers.
