SLOGAN tees have an eternal allure
What’s not to love about the blank canvas of a white T-shirt housing a bold print? Or a logo of your favourite brand?
For decades, designers have utilising the design to support causes or make fashion statements.
They have become a wardrobe staple, with designers like Ganni leading the charge this year.
The Denmark-based fashion house has become famed for its fruit-themed short-sleeved T-shirts.
From citrus fruits like lemons to cheekier styles with cherries, there’s a version for every palette.
But what do you do when you can’t afford to splurge £95 on the season’s hottest tees?
Well, you can actually turn to Boohoo.
The fast fashion brand has released a white dupe of Ganni’s iconic cherry T-shirt.
And the best bit is that it’s currently on sale for £9.80.
That’s a whole 30% off its original price of £14.
The DSGN STUDIO Cherry Varsity Oversized T-shirt is available in sizes XS to XL.
It features the same double cherry design with the stems forming a heart over the brand logo.
The only difference is the brand name on the top, with Boohoo’s reading: “DSGN.”
“Say it with your shirt this season in this graphic T-shirt from our latest collection,” Boohoo bosses said.
“Featuring a bold design for maximum impact, this graphic tee is the perfect way to elevate your off-duty fits.
“Best worn oversized, we’re living for a graphic tee worn with leather leggings, colour-block trainers and an oversized bomber.
“If you’re heading out, throw on an oversized blazer, jeans and heeled boots for a chic look that’s guaranteed to pass the vibe check.”
A blurb on the £90 Ganni Cherry Tee reads: “Elevate your casual wardrobe with the Ganni Cherry Tee.
“This crewneck t-shirt features a striking dark red and black graphic print displaying the brand’s logo and a chic cherry motif on the front adding a touch of whimsy and sophistication to your outfit.
“The short sleeves and ribbed collar provide a comfortable and stylish fit, perfect for those seeking a versatile yet trendy look.
“Pair it with jeans for a casual day out or layer it under a blazer for a chic evening look.
“Whether you’re running errands or meeting friends for coffee, the Ganni White T-Shirt with Logo effortlessly combines comfort and style for any casual occasion.”
How to look chic on a budget
Fashion stylist Gemma Rose Breger, and beauty journalist Samantha Silver revealed how you can make your outfits elevated without spending hundreds of pounds.
- Don’t ever spend on designer denim: River Island ”always has such a great selection with fashion- forward jeans that follow the current trends”. The high street retailer offers a great range of sizes to fit UK 6 – UK 18, and three leg lengths – and prices start from an affordable £25.
- There are no rules for jewels: ”Pick up something at a car boot sale, or charity shop, scroll on Vinted & eBay, snap up something from the clothing section in your local supermarket when doing the food shop or check out high street clothing stores.”
- Don’t forget the pre-loved sites: With a rising number of second-hand sites, such as Vinted and Depop, there really is no excuse of not buying – or selling – pre-loved garments. Gemma, for instance, has managed to get her hands on chic Chanel sunnies for a mere £17.
