The hype surrounding Fallout London has been red hot over the past few weeks, but now the game is here, it seems that fans are frustrated the game is ‘buggy and unplayable.’
You can insert your own Bethesda joke here.
Fallout 76 is due for a big update very soon that will allow you to finally play as a ghoul
Fallout London is a huge fan-made mod for Fallout 4 that turns the capital into a wasteland, beyond £8 pints and spilled kebabs.
However, it seems that upon launch the game is barely playable, and many of those who have awaited the launch are finding lists of bugs and balancing issues.
When you look at Reddit, one comment seems to sum up the thoughts of the player base: “There are a lot of issues and bugs. People think it should have been delayed.”
And while many are sympathetic to the development team which is made up of fans and community creators, the mod isn’t being reviewed well on GOG.
Another Redditor points out, “People don’t understand that it’s a community project that doesn’t have a QA team.”
Which is a good point. Bethesda themselves have a huge QA team and their games still launch with bugs and problems, it’s no surprise this huge mod has issues.
One user, Lia_Llama, takes issue with the marketing of the mod saying, “This mod felt more like it was advertised as a product not a work in progress.”
When something is marketed as one of the biggest mods to launch for the franchise, it’s going to get expectations up.
Add on to this the hype surrounding Fallout on the whole since the Amazon show debuted and you’re bound to have disgruntled fans who want a perfect, new Fallout product.
There is plenty of time for the development team to improve, patch, and update the mod – which is free, by the way – and hopefully turn the experience into a positive one.
