Expedition Cruise Network launches travel advisor bootcamp

Must read

The bootcamps, hosted by ECN members, will take place at Silversea’s London offices on July 17 and Scenic’s Manchester office on July 18. Each one will be open to 12 travel advisors and comprise a day of intense training on cruising in Antarctica

Selling responsibly

‘Although Antarctica has become highly sought after, it is still one of the last true wildernesses on Earth and a tremendously fragile environment. Visiting is a privilege,’ commented Akvile Marozaite, CEO and co-founder of Expedition Cruise Network. ‘Our new bespoke face-to-face training days will provide delegates with a deep understanding of the destination, insights into key considerations when recommending expedition cruises and help travel advisors sell Antarctica responsibly.’

Marozaite added, ‘The bootcamps are the first of their kind and are intended to be intense training events where travel trade professionals can come together to learn about expedition cruising from ECN’s signature training courses and expedition cruise suppliers.’

Bootcamp

The first two ECN Antarctica bootcamps will include training on expedition cruising in general, Antarctica as a destination specifically, and the chance to hear five handpicked expedition cruise operators talk about their Antarctic programmes, equipping attendees with the knowledge and skills to sell expedition cruising to the White Continent, as well as providing them with a clear understanding of the different operators and products.

Selling guide

The complementary selling guide contains highlights of the expedition cruise experience, the various experiences of travelling in different months of the Antarctic season, a run-down of operators in the region and how their products differ, the continent’s geography and how it is protected, details on conservation projects, and more.
