Former England international Andy Carroll was involved in a street brawl in Mayfair after dining at a posh restaurant with his wife, former TOWIE star Billi Mucklow
Former England striker Andy Carroll was reportedly involved in a fight after going out to dinner with his wife at a posh London restaurant.
In video footage from the aftermath of the incident, Carroll can be seen swaying on his feet as he is held back by onlookers. The 35-year-old’s white shirt is torn and witnesses have told how he fought with a man after leaving a restaurant.
Carroll had been out for dinner with his wife, former TOWIE star Billi Mucklow, at Sexy Fish in Mayfair when the incident occurred. A witness told the Sun: “Andy was fighting a random geezer on the floor.
“As others tried to hold him back, Carroll stared at other strangers, asking, ‘You f***ing want some?'” A second added: “Andy had been in the restaurant with Billi. It looked like they had been having a pleasant evening, knocking back the drinks and enjoying the Asian cuisine.
“But Andy had a row with a guy as they were preparing to leave. It spilled on to the street and to everyone’s amazement he was rolling on the road with this guy. It all happened very quickly. Billi was not impressed.
“The guy disappeared as security ran over to intervene. Andy had his smart white shirt ripped. People tried to calm him down but he had unfinished business and could be heard shouting ‘Where is he?’
“I don’t blame the other guy for doing a runner. You’ve got to be brave to take on a 6ft 4ins powerhouse like Andy.” Carroll currently plays for Amiens in the second tier of French football, having joined the club last summer from League One side Reading.
Reflecting on the move, Carroll told his former club West Ham: “The Premier League lifestyle takes its toll and before finishing my career, I knew that I wanted to play in another country, whether it was in Europe or even the USA.
“It was time to try something different and I kept telling myself: ‘You’ve been doing this since you were 17, you’re not getting any younger.’ Then, when Ruben Selles took over at Reading last summer, I could see he wanted a younger team without us old boys. We had an honest chat.
“‘I’m not going to be one of your players,’ I told him. ‘Don’t worry, I’ll find myself another club.’ But when I phoned my agent asking him to find me a team outside England, he replied: ‘It’s not quite as easy as that!’ A few days later, though, I got invited to France and, arriving in Amiens, immediately knew it was going to be the perfect move.”
