New Parkour Moves
Fortnite’s traversal mechanics have taken big steps forward (no pun intended) with each new chapter, but in Chapter 6, it’s more like a giant leap forward. Okay, pun intended that time.
Four new movement abilities will be usable starting this season, each of them inspired by classic moves from the parkour community. They are:
- Ledge Jump
- Roll Landing
- Wall Kick
- Wall Scramble
When you sprint off a ledge, you’ll automatically perform a ledge jump, giving you more airtime and longer range. Roll landing breaks your fall and keeps you on the move as you somersault back into a sprinting stance, restoring some stamina in the process.
Wall kicking lets you boost yourself off the side of a vertical obstacle, such as a wall (duh), letting you perform another roll landing or even another wall kick from there. Lastly, wall scrambling lets you climb some vertical heights you’d otherwise not be able to grab the top of, giving you more leeway with the heights you can climb to.
These new moves will be featured in all the major modes of Fortnite: Battle royale, Zero Build, Reload, Fortnite OG, and Creator-made islands.
