Experienced Goodison Park stadium announcer Graeme White has received messages of support from Evertonians after he revealed that he had been let go from his position ahead of their historic final season at the ground.
The 50-year-old lifelong Blue from Wirral, has been the voice of Everton matchdays for almost a decade, reading out the teams, announcing goalscorers, substitutions and other elements of games in his distinctive style. However, White took to social media to announce his departure on X (formerly Twitter), posting: “After 9 years as stadium announcer, last week I was informed that my match day contract was not being renewed. The club have moved to an established “Name” as they change to in vision presenting for Goodison’s last season.
“Thanks for the memories. Loved every minute.”
Prominent members of the Everton family and Merseyside media have replied with their messages of support. Alan Myers said: “Sorry to hear this Graeme,” while Radio Merseyside’s Paul Salt remarked: “Sorry to hear that mate.”

The Toffee Blues replied: “Sad news to read Graeme. Wishing you all the best in whatever comes next. Your voice will forever be remembered in the history of Goodison and Everton.”
Upper Gwladys Blue stated: “Very sorry to hear that Graeme. You were a great stadium announcer, a voice synonymous with an EFC era, same as Simon Ross was before you. You will be missed. All the very best for the future.”
Coxy (@Toffeeman1971) said: “Disappointing to hear that Graeme Especially with it being last season at Goodison as well. If the club wanted to go down that route then they could have easily done that at Bramley-Moore. “
Joe (@joeEFC_1878) remarked: “I’ll be honest, your voice is something I’ve become accustomed to whenever we score, whenever I think back to a goal at Goodison I hear your voice.. if something isn’t broke then don’t fix it.”
Paula Maguire stated: “Oh no, I’m gutted for you, it will not be the same without you, actually very annoyed that you haven’t been given the last season.”
Mark McCormack commented: “Sorry to hear this Greame, you are a fantastic announcer and it’s a shame that you won’t get the last season at Goodison.”
The ECHO contacted Everton for comment and a representative of the club said that an announcement on the matter will be made in due course.
