England are the current favourites to be crowned European champions for the first time in their history.

Gareth Southgate’s men currently have the shortest odds at 11/4 to win the Euro 2024 final in Berlin on 14th July, marginally ahead of the 2022 World Cup runners up France, who are priced at 4/1.

England have been dealt a reasonably favourable group stage draw this summer, having been placed in Group C where they will play Serbia in Gelsenkirchen, Denmark in Frankfurt and finally Slovenia in Cologne.

Should the Three Lions win the group, they’ll face one of the best third-placed teams in other groups in the Round of 16 before a potential quarter final against defending champions Italy in a repeat of the final from three years ago in the last eight.

It seems France would be the most likely semi final opponent for Southgate’s men, giving them the chance for revenge after being knocked by Les Bleus in the quarter finals of the World Cup almost a year and a half ago.

Which leaves, if the odds are anything to go by, a potential final against the hosts and old enemies Germany, who are currently third favourites for the title at 5/1 despite their struggles in recent years, or one of the Iberian duo Portugal or Spain, priced at 8/1 and 9/1 respectively.

Belgium and defending champions Italy are priced at 16/1, while 1988 winners Netherlands have been given 18/1 odds to lift the Henri Delaunay trophy.

Potential dark horses this time around include Croatia, who finished third in the World Cup in 2022, at 33/1, while Denmark, who were knocked out in extra time in the semi final three years ago are at 40/1.

Scotland will be competing at their second consecutive Euros and hoping to do better than their performance last time out when they picked up just one group stage point, finishing bottom of Group D.

This time Steve Clarke’s men are in action in the tournament’s opening match, taking on hosts Germany in Munich before playing Switzerland in Cologne and finally Hungary in Stuttgart.
