Trick Williams has been on a roll as NXT Champion since his reign began. Entering NXT Heatwave with high confidence, he aimed to dominate the fatal four-way match that headlined the premium live event.

In the main event of NXT Heatwave, Trick Williams defended his title against Je’Von Evans, Ethan Page, and Shawn Spears in a Fatal four-way match for the NXT Championship. The energetic NXT crowd was fully engaged, giving their full attention to the thrilling contest.

The match allowed each competitor to showcase their skills. For Ethan Page, performing in front of his fellow Canadians was particularly special. He played up his heel persona to minimize cheering, and being introduced as a U.S. resident added to the dynamic.

Je’Von Evans made a significant impact, hitting numerous high spots and captivating the Toronto audience with his athleticism. One highlight was an impressive dive onto Trick Williams, taking out the NXT Champion.

Despite Evans’ impressive performance, Trick Williams ultimately took control. As Evans attempted a springboard move, Williams shoved him off the top rope, sending him crashing through the announce table.

Spears then applied a Sharpshooter on Williams, but Page interrupted. Page executed the Ego’s Edge for a two count, which Evans broke up. Finally, Trick Williams hit a Trick Shot on Ethan Page, landing on Evans for the three count.

The event concluded with Ethan Page emerging as the new NXT Champion, marking a surprising turn of events and ushering in a new era for NXT—the Ego Era.
