Epic is simplifying Fortnite’s pass progression systems | VGC

Epic Games has announced plans to simplify Fortnite’s pass progression systems.

By December 1, all passes in Fortnite will progress simultaneously by earning XP from playing any experience (Battle Royale, Lego Fortnite, Rocket Racing, Fortnite Festival).

This is already the case with the Battle Royale Battle Pass. Starting on November 2, this will also apply to a new Music Pass, which will replace the Festival Pass. And on December 1, the change will come to the Brick or Treat Lego Pass too.

Festival Points and Battle Stars and Studs will be retired, and Music and Lego Passes will change to one track with both free and premium rewards, similar to how the Battle Pass works.

Players will still need to purchase the passes separately to access all the premium rewards each one offers.

“Stay tuned, you’ll soon have an easy way to snag all premium passes at once,” Epic said.

“Want something from a pass that you haven’t unlocked yet? Instead of buying levels to unlock rewards, you’ll now be able to directly purchase pass rewards (up to the allowed limit) without progressing to them on any active pass you have purchased,” it added in an FAQ.

Epic recently announced that some Fortnite Battle Pass items will no longer be exclusive. Any type of item from the Battle Pass may be sold separately after 18 months, it said.
