Tennis starlet Emma Raducanu shot to superstardom with her US Open triumph in 2021 and began dating Carlo Agostinelli in May 2023 – but now she’s called time on her relationship, with Wimbledon right around the corner.
Tennis sensation Emma Raducanu has split from her billionaire boyfriend – and blocked him on social media.
Raducanu, who shot to prominence with her stunning triumph at the 2021 US Open, started dating Carlo Agostinelli – son of tycoon Robert Agostinelli, who generated his fortune as the co-founder and chairman of private equity firm Rhone Group – last May.
The pair were spotted arm-in-arm at Paris Fashion Week and have shared luxury holidays across Europe and North America since. But, the former head boy at private school Harrow – who now lives in California – and the tennis star from south east London have gone their separate ways.
And it seems it was Emma who called it quits, with her blocking Carlo, 23, from her social channels.
“Emma has 2.4million followers on Instagram but Carlo is no longer one of them, a source told The Sun. “It seems their relationship has run its course.”
Raducanu opened up not long ago about being banned from having a boyfriend when younger as she focused on making it in tennis. Speaking to The Times last month, Raducanu said: “My parents were very much against [boyfriends] as it interfered with training. When I was younger I wasn’t even allowed to hang out with my girl friends.
“A lot of the time I was very resentful. But it made me very confident and comfortable in my own company, which is also a big strength.”
Raducanu currently has her eyes on Wimbledon, with the 21 year-old facing a make-or-break month.
The current world No.205 has served up some encouraging performances this season following surgery on both her wrists and her ankle, having missed the entirety of 2023.But after pulling out of qualifying for the French Open to focus on the grass court game, she now has opportunities to get moving onwards and upwards thanks to wildcards in the Nottingham Open and Eastbourne International.
She will then have a wildcard offered to her ahead of Wimbledon, where she will be looking to make a splash.
