Emma Corrin has officially entered the Saint Laurent Cinematic Universe

Must read

Yesterday afternoon, Emma Corrin arrived in Berlin for the first fan event of their new film Deadpool & Wolverine. Starring alongside Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman as the titular characters, the movie marks their official entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but – much more importantly than that – Corrin was also inducted into the Saint Laurent Cinematic Universe, too.

Looking a far cry from Lady Chatterley, the chameleonic actor had transformed into one of Anthony Vaccarello’s muses for the event, donning look number 16 from his AW24 Saint Laurent women’s collection. The belted satin mini-dress that Corrin wore was also doing a little bit of transformation itself, turning into a pair of suspenders mid-thigh, which were then attached to a pair of sheer black stockings. It would be a difficult silhouette for most people to pull off, but at this point Corrin is well versed in taking offbeat styles and making them look seamless. Rather than pairing the look with the sheer headwrap that was seen on the runway, however, the actor went for their signature pixie which had been newly dyed jet-black to match.

Corrin’s induction into the SLCU isn’t without precedent, of course. The actor is a long-time fashion obsessive and is often spotted in wacky wares from the likes of JW Anderson and Miu Miu, having walked the runway and starred in numerous campaigns for the latter. Other members of the wider universe include recent campaign star Bella Hadid – who wore a nearly-naked dress from the same collection at Cannes – and also front row regulars like Kate Moss and Mia Khalifa, so Corrin is already in very good company. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for the event itself, where the actor was forced to stand between Jackman and Reynolds and wave fake plastic guns at the audience. At least the presence of runway-ready Saint Laurent made the activity slightly more chic.
