Sir Elton John has been flooded with well-wishes after speaking about his health issues.
Taking to Instagram, the musician informed fans that heβs recovering slowly from a severe infection, which has left him with limited sight in one eye.
βOver the summer, Iβve been dealing with a severe eye infection that has unfortunately left me with only limited vision in one eye,β he began.
βI am healing but itβs an extremely slow process and it will take some time before sight returns to the impacted eye.β
The 77-year-old continued: βI am grateful for the excellent team of doctors and nurses and my family, who have taken such good care of me over the last several weeks.
βI have been quietly spending the summer recuperating at home, and am feeling positive about the progress I have made in my healing and recovery thus far.β
Sir Elton signed off: βWith love and gratitude, Elton John.β

Last year, Elton was rushed to hospital after suffering a fall at his Nice villa.
In 2021, the pioneering songwriter underwent hip surgery, which resulted in himΒ having to reschedule a few showsΒ on his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.
Shortly after the procedure, he was welcomed to Windsor Castle for the investiture ceremony marking his appointment as a member of the Order of the Companions of Honour by then-Prince Charles.
Speaking at the ceremony, where he walked with the support of a stick, he said: βI may not look as if Iβm 100% fit β Iβm not quite β but Iβm still raring to go and Iβve got a lot more work to do as far as my life goes.β
The celebrated artist performed his final concert date on 8 July 2023 in Stockholm after more than 50 years of performing. The Farewell Yellow Brick Road world tour was 49 dates long, and was his goodbye to fans, as he vowed to retire from live shows.
He decided to step away to spend more time with his family β Elton shares sons,Β Zachary and Elijah, with husband David Furnish.
However, while the chance to purchase tickets to see Sir Elton live may be gone, supporters will reportedly still get to enjoy new music as longtime collaborator Bernie Taupin said a new album was βcoming out very soonβ while speaking in May.
βI darenβt say anything about it because Iβm under strict orders to keep schtum,β he added (via Music News).
