Elon Musk’s transgender daughter has rebuked claims made by her father that he was tricked by a “woke mind virus” into allowing her to transition.
Vivian Jenna Wilson, 20, branded the billionaire businessman an attention-seeker who was trying to distort the truth after he declared his daughter “not a girl” and figuratively “dead” this week.
Ms Wilson changed her name from Xavier to Vivian in June 2022 after she transitioned. In court filings at the time, she wrote: “I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form.”
Mr Musk said on Monday that his daughter, whom he still refers to as Xavier, was “born gay and slightly autistic, two attributes that contribute to gender dysphoria”.
“But he was not a girl,” he added.
The tech tycoon then vowed to drive out “the woke mind virus”, a dig at what he sees as political over-correctness and hysterical liberal ideals, from X, formerly Twitter, which he bought in 2022 for $44 billion (£37 million).
