Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Patch 1.14 Makes the Final Boss Easier

Must read

FromSoftware has today deployed a new PS5, PS4 patch for Elden Ring DLC Shadow of the Erdtree that works to make the final boss fight a little easier. Due to the subject of this update, there will be spoilers below.

The battle against Promised Consort Radahn has been changed in six different ways, as detailed by the studio below:

  • Changed the action pattern when the battle starts.
  • Adjusted some attack moves.
  • Decreased the damage of some attacks.
  • Decreased stamina damage of some attacks.
  • Decreased the attack range of some non-weapon-based attacks.
  • Improved the visibility of some attack effects.

When fighting Radahn, players have often complained about how difficult it can be to read some of his attacks — especially in the second phase when he lifts up into the air and shoots down projections of himself at you. It’s likely this issue has been addressed by update 1.14, and now you’ll also simply lose less HP from select attacks. At the very start of the encounter, as you pass through the fog door, it sounds like Radahn also won’t directly launch himself at you.

Patch 1.14 also brings with it some balance changes in PvP and others that impact the whole game. Some of the weapon arts have had their attack speed increased, and the Rellana’s Twin Moons spell has had its range increased. Some incantations are addressed alongside a long list of bug fixes. You can read the full list of patch 1.14 notes through the link.

Will these Radahn nerfs finally help you beat him? Let us know in the comments below.
