McArthurGlen Designer Outlet East Midlands has announced plans to redevelop its food court as part of a multi-million-pound investment.

The new food court is the latest addition to the centre’s £12m investment, following the recent opening of the largest Nike store in the McArthurGlen portfolio.

Adidas is set to open this summer in a flagship position at the front of the centre, while US Polo, Molton Brown, Puma, and Rituals have already joined the roster of brands.

It will introduce new cuisines to the centre, including the American fast-casual chain Slim Chickens, and a Chopstix noodle bar.

The revamped food court will feature increased seating capacity, a variety of seating options, a fresh look with natural wood, multi-tiered lighting, indoor landscaping, trees, new tables and chairs, and a new central circle bar.

The development will create around 20 new jobs in the new restaurants and employ approximately 100 people full-time during the construction project.

Paul Sutton, centre manager at East Midlands Designer Outlet, said: “This is a significant moment for East Midlands Designer Outlet as we continue to develop our Centre ensuring we offer the best shopping and dining experiences for our guests. The redevelopment of the food court will welcome a wide range of restaurants to choose from in an attractive and upbeat environment and is just one step in our long-term commitment to enhancing the guest experience.  We will have further announcements regarding both an additional new restaurant that will be joining us in our Food Court, as well as exciting new store openings throughout the year, so watch this space.”

Construction is set to begin in June.
