Eamonn Holmes admits ‘it’s very different’ as he makes career announcement

Must read

Eamonn Holmes took to Instagram on Sunday night to announce there were going to be some changes at GB News. The former ITV presenter sat at the GB News desk where he explained: “Here we are, it is Sunday and I am in work.

“But you may think, ‘He is not at work, this is different, there is something different about this’, we have had a set redesign. It is quite similar but very different for us.

“It is very different in terms of lighting, very different in terms of the height of the desk, the curvature of the desk. It used to be straight and now it’s quite curvy.”

“And I am going to sit on a different side of the table,” he continued as he pointed to where he and Isabel will be sitting. “Hopefully the programme will be as good as ever and we win a TRIC Award on Tuesday to prove it.

“Anyway this is the new look, give me a wee text, give me your view of what you think, do you like it? I hope you do, see you in the morning, 6am until 9.30am.”

Fans rushed to the comments to share their thoughts on the new set, with one writing: “I look forward to 6am for the big reveal.”

Another said: “You look good at any set Eamonn! looking forward to it!”

A third added: “I never did like the straight table, it looked very rude when you were talking to one of guests and had to turn your back on the other guest, so I love this curved one more professional”

“Absolutely perfect looking forward to seeing you tomorrow morning,” someone else shared.

Eamonn’s co-host Isabel also took to her Instagram stories to share the news about the GB News studio.

She simply wrote: “Come and check out our shiny new set.”

Breakfast with Eamonn and Isabel has been nominated for a TRIC Awards along with the likes of Good Morning Britain, BBC Breakfast, and BBC News at Six.

In a previous post, the TV star wrote: “Just found out Breakfast on @gbnews has made the shortlist of nominations for a @tricawardsuk for Best News Programme 2024. This was the moment, last year when we won! We were stunned and delighted.

What’s special about the TRICS is they’re entirely based on public votes. Huge thanks to all who voted again this year – putting us in the top 4 is a huge honour! We’re up against GMB, BBC Breakfast and BBC News at 6. Wish us luck! The ceremony is at the end of June.”
