It’s been claimed Eamonn Holmes is planning on marrying his new girlfriend Katie Alexander following his split from Ruth Langsford.
The GB News presenter, 64, has been pictured with Katie, 42, numerous times in the last few months, after they embarked on a romantic luxury holiday together.
They’re said to be ‘smitten’ with each other and ‘in love’, and have even moved in together.
This comes after Eamonn’s split from Loose Women star Ruth, 64, in May following 14 years of marriage.
The former couple have since said very little about their split, with reports at the time stating work commitments had resulted in them drifting in ‘different directions’.
While Ruth recently gave an update on their divorce proceedings, indicating it may not be going ‘well’, and amid claims she’s hired a ‘fierce’ divorce lawyer, it’s now been said Eamonn is planning to propose to his new girlfriend.
A source told The Sun: ‘Eamonn has been talking openly about his plans to marry Katie and has made it clear he wants to spend the rest of his life with her.
‘They’re already living together and he knows it feels right. They have a very strong connection and get on very well.
‘She has given him a real lust for life and she looks after him.’
While on a trip to Paris, Katie sparked rumours she’s wearing an engagement ring after the sparkling jewellery was spotted on her ring finger.
An onlooker added to The Sun: ‘Eamonn and his girlfriend looked very loved-up.
‘She was fussing over him and he had a big smile on his face.’
Last month, it was revealed that as well as knowing one another since 2015, Katie and Eamonn had been exchanging flirty online messages over a decade ago.
A source claimed that ‘no one knew how far back they went’, continuing: ‘Ruth will be shocked they were in contact 12 years ago. I don’t think she would have known.
‘Eamonn gets a buzz out of replying to messages from fans. He and Katie had a real connection, and it blossomed into something more.’
Meanwhile, Ruth has remained tight-lipped about the break-up but it was claimed she was shocked by the new couple going on a luxury holiday together and that she was ‘partying through the pain’.
She also commented on how difficult it is going through personal issues in the public eye, while talking to Tommy Fury about his split from Molly-Mae Hague.
Ruth said: ‘It’s a tricky time, as I know, going through all these things in public. Everyone’s got something to say, without knowing the truth.’
Metro has approached Eamonn’s reps for comment.
