EA closing servers of multiple Xbox 360 Battlefield games in November

Must read

If you’re missing any Battlefield 3 achievements, you’ll want to jump back into the game as soon as possible, as EA has revealed it is shutting down servers of multiple Xbox 360 Battlefield games soon.

Battlefield 3, Battlefield 4, and Battlefield Hardline Xbox 360 servers to close in November

As confirmed on EA’s Online Services Shutdown page, Xbox 360 servers for Battlefield 3, Battlefield 4, and Battlefield Hardline will all close on November 7, 2024. Naturally, once the servers are switched off and online game modes are no longer accessible, a plethora of Xbox achievements will become discontinued, and they’ll no longer be available to unlock.

When looking through each game’s achievement list, we see that 43 Battlefield 3 achievements, 30 Battlefield 4 achievements, and 25 Battlefield Hardline achievements will all be discontinued as of November 7.

Battlefield 3 is a backwards compatible 360 title, so if you are thinking about going for the completion, you can play it on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One — it’s also available with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate via EA Play. As for Battlefield 4 and Battlefield Hardline, these are specific Xbox 360 stacks and are not backwards compatible, which means you will need an Xbox 360 to play these titles.

It’s worth noting that the Xbox One versions of Battlefield 4 and Hardline will not be impacted by the server closure.

If you are hunting down any of the achievements in these games, don’t forget you can set up or join a Gaming Session and work with other TA members to pop any remaining online achievements you need before they’re gone for good. As pointed out in a couple of forum threads, it looks like the best way of boosting achievements in these games is by renting a server. However, renting servers is handled through Xbox 360 Marketplace, which is due to shut down on July 29, so you may not have as much time as you think to grab these completions.

In other Xbox server closure news, Wolcen Studio announced it is shutting down the Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem servers later this month.
