Famous for her chart-topping hits like One Kiss, Levitating and Houdini, the songstress reportedly received around £200,000 to headline the major event.

However, she planned to invest a significant portion of that fee back into her performance and an “elaborate” stage to put on as spectacular a show as possible.

It’s said that artists often incur a loss after their performances at Glastonbury once overall costs such as touring expenses, crew, and set fees are counted.

And iit is believed that Dua splurged “everything” on the production, implying a staggering sum of money was invested.

Ahead of her performance, the star promised fans a “non-stop, relentless fun” night.

Dua credited her parents for her ability to create catchy pop songs which often lands in the envied top spot.

The 28-year-old recalled: “My parents, they’re very lively and they love a party and they’re just fun party people. I remember being a kid and them taking me everywhere with them.

“We would go on holiday and they would go to a bar and there’d be live music, and I would stay there until three o’clock in the morning until I would fall asleep and they would still be up and hanging out and chatting.”

Speaking to The Mirror, Dua continued: “I was always surrounded by music and dancing, and people were having community and these joyous moments.

“The second I got a little bit older, I was like, I want to go dancing. I want to be free. I want to feel the music and the sweatier I got on a night out.”

The singer is eager for her fans to create some “unbelievable” memories at her Glastonbury performance and throughout the festival’s highly-anticipated weekend.

Dua remarked: “There’s something about the community and the energy at Glastonbury that is unlike anywhere else. There’s a real sense of togetherness and closeness, and common language.

“You make these unbelievable memories and you make friends, and you just have stories for the rest of your life.”
