Donald Trump has vowed to sack the head of America’s financial watchdog and appoint bitcoin-friendly regulators in a speech designed to woo cryptocurrency investors.
The Republican nominee told the Bitcoin Conference in Nashville, Tennessee, on Saturday that he would make the United States “the bitcoin superpower of the world” if he is again elected president.
He received a standing ovation as he pledged to fire Gary Gensler, the chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, who has sought to clamp down on digital currency fraud. Gensler’s term is not due to expire until 2026.

“Upon taking office, I will immediately appoint a bitcoin and crypto presidential advisory council,” Trump told a crowd of about 5,000 people interspersed with “Make America Great Again” and
