A DISCOUNT supermarket chain has announced a MAJOR change to every shop after listening to customers’ wishes.
Poundland fans were thrilled to hear the industry giant would be helping shoppers find the best deals once again.
Bargain hunters will be able to find all their £1 favourites clearly presented in stores from today.
Poundland has now introduced “Price Pounder” signs throughout its revamped stores.
These work by calling out savings against the RRP on big brands such as Heinz and Coca-Cola.
Shops will also place their best deals at the front of shops.
It comes after doubts were cast over the amount of products actually priced at just a quid.
Shoppers noticed some cost hikes, and more expensive stock on the shelves.
But bosses insist there are still more than 1,000 grocery items at £1 or less.
A company spokesperson said: “While Poundland offers amazing value on much wider ranges, it’s still the home of the pound with around a third of all its grocery items at that price or below.
“It remains committed to offering a significant proportion of its ranges at £1 or below, even as it expands ranges to offer customers amazing value in whole new categories such as chilled and frozen food, homewares and clothing.”
It comes as over a hundred Poundland shops are getting a face lift this year – and there are five big changes for shoppers to spot.
This marks less than a year after the discount chain acquired 71 former Wilko sites, boosting its store count to over 850 nationwide.
In recent months, its stores have been undergoing a huge regeneration project with 150 getting a makeover this year.
It then plans to roll out the format to more stores in the future.
Shops will have new signs to give them an updated look – and highlight some of the best deals.
There’s a new meal deal, discounts on clothing and an unbeatable deal on crisps.
It comes as fashion fans were racing to Poundland for the huge clothing sale.
Prices start from just £2 on summer dresses and kids’ favourites.
Meanwhile, beauty lovers have been raving about a “flawless” foundation and setting powder by the bargain chain.
Plus, fans cried “brilliant job on a budget” as they saw one shopper’s DIY decking revamp – using a £1.99 Poundland buy.
And, an expert revealed four things you should always buy at Poundland – and three items to avoid.
