Tartan, leather, lace and feathers were all on display as models flaunted daring looks at the star-studded Dior Cruise show held in the picturesque ground of Perthshire’s Drummond Castle on Monday.
The event – set in Crieff – which was attended by A-listers including Anya Taylor-Joy, Geri Horner, Jennifer Lawrence and Alexa Chung appeared to nod to to its Scottish surroundings mixed in with a Victorian touch, featuring corset-style silhouettes and squared necklines.
Speaking to The Scotsman, former Harper’s Bazaar editor Justine Picardie, who was involved in the show, gushed about its ‘perfect setting’.
‘I first went with my husband when I was living in Scotland,’ she said. ‘It’s often described as one of the most beautiful gardens in Scotland, but I think it’s one of the most beautiful in the world. It’s just magical.’
She also explained how the location is important to Christian Dior – who died in 1957, aged 52 – himself.
Justine revealed that he had made headlines in Scotland by hosting 1955 shows in Glasgow and the Gleneagles.
‘As you can imagine, the fact that the biggest fashion designer in the world should come here made headlines in Scotland as well as around the world,’ she said.
‘I’ve always thought that it would be a really wonderful thing for Dior to return and to work with Scottish textile makers and manufacturers.’
Justine also said that Christian was said to have ‘stayed on’ in Scotland for a while after the shows ended because he wanted to ‘explore’ the region.
She remarked on the ‘special relationship between France and Scotland that goes all the way back to Mary Queen of Scots and even before then’.
Monday’s glamorous event unveiled the stunning collection created by Dior’s designer, Maria Grazia Chiuri – and a number of A-listers were in attendance.
Anya Taylor-Joy cut a glamorous figure in a chic black mini dress as she joined a slew of stars.
The actress, 28, exuded elegance in the fitted black dress teamed with a chic grey blazer as she attended the swanky fashion event.
Anya showed off her pins in the polo neck black mini dress which she teamed with matching sheer suspenders and flat patent leather boots.
And Alexa Chung kept it simple but stylish as she attended the show.
The model, 40, put on a very leggy display as she showcased her incredible physique in a tiny pair of black shorts.
Opting for a sophisticated look she paired the shorts with a white open necked shirt and long woollen coat to complete the chic aesthetic.
Holding a blue Dior printed handbag, she added a pop of colour with a bold red lip while her dark locks fell naturally over her shoulders.
Meanwhile Jennifer Lawrence, 33, braved the weather in a chic leopard print coat which she layered over a white Christian Dior top and wide legged jeans.
The Oscar winner added height to her frame with heels and sported a pair of dark shade as she back held her glossy blonde locks with a black satin hairband.
